ABOUT Artist:
Dianna Yakobson is a contemporary realist artist whose imaginative stylistic approach conveys a unique perspective with a flair for the dramatic accentuated with dreamlike elements. She takes the viewer through a panoply of compelling narrative scenarios that ignite our endless curiosity about her subjects. Her expert drawing capabilities and attention to detail are matched by her ability to convey emotion and an accurate likeness of her subjects – whether they are portraits or botanicals — often fusing both in the same work of art. She displays her proficiency in a range of mediums including watercolor, acrylic, pencil, and markers to achieve a wide range of textures. Dianna brings a lyrical sensibility and rhythmic quality to her compositions. Her integration of exquisite patterns in the foreground and background is reminiscent of Japanese woodcuts and illustrations by Aubrey Beardsley. Her keen sense of design and use of positive and negative space imbue her art with a powerful visual presence. ~ Renée Phillips, Director, Manhattan Arts International, New York, NY
