I became interested in photography about 2 years ago when I purchased my first DSLR camera. Determined to learn to use my camera and all its features, I dived head first into learning everything I could on the art of taking high quality photographs.
I surprised myself and everyone around me with the intensity of my passion, how deeply I fell in love with photography. Suddenly my eyes began to see the world around me in a completely different way and I have found this new ability to see just grows and grows, it never switches off.
I began my business ‘Theressa Putland Photography’ in 2013 with a client focus on family and children’s photography. In my leisure time I pursue my true love of documentary style photography focusing strongly on black and white / monotone photographs.
In December 2013 I incorporated my love of photography with my love of community services work by becoming a member of the Heartfelt team, giving the gift of photographic memories to families who have experienced still birth or have a critically ill child. Although it’s emotionally difficult work, I feel I have found a calling with Heartfelt.
